Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) achieved a record turnover of over Rs 13,675 crore in 2011, a 26 per cent growth vis-a-vis the previous calendar year.
The sales turnover of over Rs 1,500 crore in December was also the best-ever monthly achievement at the plant since inception.
In 2011, with a view to improve the availability of steel in rural areas, VSP introduced a Rural Dealership Scheme and appointed as many as 209 rural dealers, a company release said.
