Mumbai-based start-up Voxpop Clothing, an online portal for licenced apparel merchandise, has raised $1 million from existing investor Blume Ventures, and few other strategic investors.
Siddharth Taparia, Founder, Voxpop Clothing, said the company intends to use the funds for adding new category of products in its existing offering, and to expand the team and increase its tie-ups with brands.
The company had raised a seed round of $400,000 in June 2013.
Voxpop Clothing offers limited edition t-shirts of brands and themes.
Customers can find merchandise of their favourite icons, characters and stories directly from the Voxpop site, or have the option to buy products from other online stores such as Flipkart, Jabong and eBay.
The clothing brand has been involved with entertainment licensing in the past and has created t-shirts of superhero characters like Batman, Spiderman, Avengers, Captain America, Game of Thrones, Superman, Ironman.
It also tied up with few offline retailers like Planet Superheroes and Hysteria in Bangalore.
Blume Ventures, founded by Karthik Reddy and Sanjay Nath, has so far invested in 65 Indian start-ups, majority of which are in the Internet and mobile technologies sector.
