Mahindra Two Wheelers Ltd. (MTWL) is increasing its focus on exports and will begin exporting to an additional five countries before the end of this fiscal, taking its total tally of overseas destinations to 14 from nine at present. It also said it will create special variants for export.
The company which launched the Centuro N1 today, a new variant of the 100cc bike Centuro it introduced in the market six months ago also expects to introduce 7-8 new models of bikes and scooters in the next two to three years. The earliest to hit the road will be the Mahindra Mojo, a 300cc motorcycle that has been developed in house.
Speaking on the sidelines of the new launch Anoop Mathur, President, Two Wheeler sector, said that the company was ramping-up production capacity at its Pithampur plant. Elaborating on the export plans, Viren Popli, Executive Vice-President said that the target was to achieve 10-15 per cent of the total sales through exports over the next 24-36 months.
