Yogurberry to please southern tastebuds

Frozen yogurt chain Yogurberry will shortly enter South India, setting up outlets first in Chennai and Bangalore. It now has five outlets in Delhi and Mumbai and three more under construction, said Mr Pawan Batavia, Partner at Dubai-based Synergy Holdings, the brand’s master franchisee. The company aims to have 100 outlets operating in five years. About Rs 50 crore will be invested in this. The South Korean Yogurberry has operations in the US, China, Brazil, West Asia, Portugal, Malaysia, Sudan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam and Macau. It has competition in Cocoberry, Red Mango, BerryCool and Kiwi Kiss. Frozen yogurt, sold as a healthier alternative to ice-cream, is a nascent business in India. Mr Batavia said prices would be competitive and start at Rs 62 for a 90 gm cup.
