Adani signs pact with Rajasthan to set up 10,000 MW solar park

Solar park will also have manufacturing units for solar parts and modules

Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL), the flagship company of the Adani Group has entered into an agreement with Government of Rajasthan to set up 10,000 megawatt solar park in the state.

 

Both AEL and Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd. have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to form a joint-venture to set up the solar park, which will include generation projects as well as a manufacturing unit for solar module, parts and equipment, informed a statement by Adani Enterprises.

 

However, the investment and other financial details were not disclosed.

 

The solar park will include solar power projects and manufacturing unit for solar module, parts and equipment in Rajasthan.

 

The projected solar park will produce clean and green energy of approx. 16,644 million units, there by reducing carbon footprint by approx. 16.2 MT, the company claimed.

 

"India has embarked upon an ambitious program of becoming a world leader in renewable power generation, with a special focus on solar. The development of solar park facility is our contribution towards realization of our Prime Minister's campaign and commitment towards clean and green energy in India," said Gautam Adani, Chairman, Adani Group.

 

Last month, AEL had signed a MoU with US-based SunEdison Inc to jointly invest $4 billion in setting up India’s largest integrated solar photovoltaic making plant in Mundra, Gujarat.
