Adhunik Power and Natural Resources Ltd (APNRL) expects to commission its second coal-fired 270 MW thermal power plant by the fourth quarter of this fiscal in Saraikela district, Jharkhand.

APNRL, a step-down subsidiary of Adhunik Metaliks Ltd, on Tuesday commissioned its first 270 MW thermal power plant at Padampur in Saraikela.

With an estimated investment of nearly Rs 3,151 crore, these two power plants are being set up as part of the company's MoU with the Jharkhand State Government to generate 1080 MW of power.

According to a release, the company would source coal from its captive mines at Ganeshpur non-coking coal block for the Padampur plant.
