Ajax Fiori plans Rs 100-cr expansion

Concreting equipment maker Ajax Fiori Engineering (India) Pvt Ltd plans to invest Rs 100 crore to expand its operations in India. The company has developed new products such as self-loading concrete mixer, batching plants and concrete pumps to suit Indian conditions, said K. Vijay, Managing Director. Ajax Fiori, as part of the expansion plan, has opened a ‘Parts Logistics Centre’ and a corporate office of 30,000 sq ft in Peenya, Bangalore. To manufacture concreting equipment, the company is setting up a new facility at Gauribidanur, which is expected to be operational by mid-2014.

“The facility will have the capacity to roll out 300 batching plants a year that can be rapidly scaled up to 600 plants a year,” said Vijay. Talking about the industry, he said the construction equipment sector in India has been witnessing an increasing demand to modernise construction leading to customers opting for new technology equipment. Ajax Fiori has technology tie-ups with Eurostar Concrete Technology and Junjin of South Korea.
