Power generation and transmission firm Alstom India today said it has bagged a contract worth Rs 74 crore for supplying power transmission equipment to the State-run Power Grid Corporation for two projects.
“Alstom T&D India has been awarded a contract worth approximately Rs 74 crore by Jyoti Structures, engaged in turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects in the field of power transmission. The product package will supply the Jabalpur and Nellore 765kV substation projects for Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), located respectively in Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh,” it said in a statement.
The French firm’s Indian subsidiary will supply products including circuit breakers, disconnectors, instrument transformers, current transformers and capacitive voltage transformers for several 765/400 kV substations.
“We are a market leader in India in extra and ultra high voltage (EHV) transmission products. This order further strengthens our leadership position in the development of EHV switchgear products, a technology field that is transforming the power transfer capacity of the country,” Alstom T&D India Managing Director, Mr Rathin Basu, said.
