The project is to come up in Ramagundam in Telangana. The 800 MW steam turbine generator islands for the power plant will be the first with ultra-supercritical parameters and help in the ever increasing power demand by adding a much needed 1,600 MW to the electricity grid, an official statement said.

Under the contract, Alstom Bharat Forge Power will manufacture and supply two units of 800 MW steam turbine generator islands along with the associated civil work. The equipment for the project will be manufactured at the company’s plant in Sanand in Gujarat.
