Alstom T&D India said on Monday that it has commissioned Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam’ substation in Anta, Rajasthan.
This is the first 765 kV substation in the State and the second largest with a total of 26 bays, ten 765 kV bays and sixteen 400 kV bays.
The substation, will play a significant role in pooling and evacuating the power flow from the three major power plants in the state —— Kalisindh, Kawai and Chhabra —— to the national grid, it said.
Alstom was awarded the project in September 2011. The order was valued at ₹421.20 crore. The Anta substation was set up by RVPN under the transmission system augmentation scheme to meet the growing energy demand in the state.
Currently, Rajasthan has an installed capacity of more than 5,000 MW, with over 3,000 MW still under construction.
