Alstom T&D India, an arm of French firm Alstom, has posted a net loss of Rs 1.81 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2012.
The company had registered a net profit of Rs 40 crore in the corresponding period last financial year, Alstom T&D said in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges.
Total income from operations declined to Rs 682.99 crore during the quarter under review from Rs 748.02 crore in the year-ago period.
Alstom T&D India is engaged in power transmission business. The company has presence in all stages of the power supply chain including power transformers, circuit breakers, gas insulated switchgears, instrument transformers, protection relays and power system automation equipment.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs 202.65, down 0.71 per cent, in the afternoon session on the BSE.
