Alstom T&D India has reported a 30 per cent increase in its net profit for the second quarter of FY 2015-16, at ₹46.30 crore, as compared to ₹35.5 crore in the same quarter last year.

The company said in a statement that it won important contracts during the quarter, including those from Power Grid Corporation of India.

Dip in sales

Alstom T&D India’s net sales dropped 1 per cent during the quarter to ₹903 crore from ₹913.6 crore last year.

“The market continues to be difficult and new investments are yet to be in place. The company, however, continues to demonstrate good execution of projects, bringing in cost control and optimal efficiency,” said Rathin Basu, Managing Director, Alstom T&D India.

On Thursday, the company’s shares closed 0.28 per cent lower on the BSE at ₹514.80.
