Alstom India, the subsidiary of France-based Alstom Group, said on Tuesday it has been awarded a contract by NTPC to provide environmental control equipment for the power producer's 500 MW Vindyachal super thermal power plant in Madhya Pradesh.
The contract is valued at close to €25 million, the company said in a statement.
The Central Pollution Control Board’s mandate to improve emission regulations from thermal power plants have prompted thermal power companies to adopt measures that include installation of systems for control of SO2 emissions.
