Ambuja Cements today reported 5.5 per cent growth in its annual net profit for 2012 at Rs 1,297 crore on higher realisation.
The company, in which Swiss major Holcim has the majority stake, had clocked Rs 1,229 crore net profit in 2011, it said in a release.
Net sales of the company grew by 13.8 per cent to Rs 9,675 crore compared to Rs 8,504 crore a year ago.
Ambuja Cements sold 21.43 million tonnes of cement during 2012, up 2.5 per cent over 20.91 million tonnes a year ago.
“After low cement demand as seen in the quarter ended December, demand is expected to improve. Rising cost of energy, logistics and raw materials, would impact the margins,” it said on the industry outlook.
