Amrutanjan Healthcare Ltd, manufacturer of the eponymous pain balm, has reported a 7 per cent drop in net profit at ₹5.87 crore for the quarter ended March 31 against ₹6.30 crore in the same period a year ago.
Increased expenditure However, gross sales went up over 15 per cent to ₹50.78 crore for the quarter under consideration, from ₹43.91 crore in the same period in 2013-14.
The drop in net profit was due to increased expenditure.
The company incurred ₹7.40 crore on advertising and marketing during the quarter against ₹2.65 crore in the corresponding quarter of 2013-14.
Similarly, employee cost too, went up.
The lower net profit brought down the earnings per share to ₹4.01 from ₹4.31 on annualised basis. For the full year, it reported a net profit of ₹17.28 crore (₹14.52 crore), on a turnover of ₹163.32 crore (₹138.83 crore).
