The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), an apex body of milk cooperatives in the State, will launch the Dr Varghese Kurien Academic Centre in Mehsana.
To be set up in memory of the Father of White Revolution, the centre will be inaugurated by Nirmala Kurien, daughter of late Dr Kurien at the Mansinhbhai Institute of Dairy and Food Technology, Mehsana, on June 30.
GCMMF Managing Director R.S. Sodhi will be the guest of honour while Vipul Chaudhary, Chairman, GCMMF, and Dudhsagar Dairy, Mehsana, will preside over the function, an official said here on Thursday.
Dr Kurien, who conceived “Operation Flood”, had passed away on September 9, 2012 at the age of 90 at Nadiad near Anand.
