With the launch of its 16-tonne tipper, Asia Motor Works (AMW) has driven into the mass segment. The 1618 TP is a single axle (4x2) tipper powered by a 178bhp diesel engine, mated to a 6-speed gearbox, was launched at Excon 2011 – a fair of construction and earthmoving equipment industry, last Thursday. The company has priced the vehicle at Rs 19 lakh plus taxes.
AMW has been selling trucks in the heavy duty segment. It has been selling tipper vehicles in three capacities – 25 tonne, 31 tonne and 49 tonne.
