Public sector Andrew Yule Co Ltd reported a net profit Rs 11.35 crore in FY’13 against Rs 11.85 crore in the previous year. The historic and diversified company, which is still under BIFR, is gradually reducing its accumulated loss.
It generated a revenue from operations of Rs 311.15 crore in FY2013 (Rs 290.69 crore in FY2012).
The tea division contributed the most (Rs 180.42 crore), followed by the electrical (Rs 93.41 crore) and engineering (Rs 37.67 crore) divisions. The electrical division, however, continued to be a drag on the company’s profitability (Rs 6.67 crore loss for the whole year, up from Rs 3.04 crore in FY’12).
In Q4FY13, the electrical division recorded a profit before tax and interest (Rs 4.91 crore), while tea division made a loss of Rs 10.11 crore. In the fourth quarter of 2012-13 Andrew Yule reported a net loss of Rs 2.07 crore against a net profit of Rs 2.01 crore.
The stock of Andrew Yule closed at Rs 13.02 on the BSE, up 0.62 per cent.
