Apollo Tyres has reported a net profit of ₹281.62 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, double of ₹141.05 crore earned in the corresponding period last year. Increased sales boosted the consolidated total income by more than 6 per cent to ₹3,229.27 crore against ₹3,041.99 crore in the January-March quarter 2013, an official release said. EPS also rose to ₹5.59 during the quarter against ₹2.81 in the same period last year. The shares of Apollo Tyres closed at ₹177.30 on the BSE on Thursday, up 5.88 per cent.
