Apollo Tyres has announced an investment of $35 million (Rs 194 crore: exchange rate at Rs 55.39) in its South Africa operations in a component preparation unit at its Ladysmith tyre facility. This is in addition to the $85-million already invested in the region by the tyre maker after the acquisition of the former Dunlop Tyre facilities. This new unit will aid in capacity expansion for the regional market.
