Premier Futsal Management, which plans to organise league-based futsal series, Premier Futsal, has roped in Oscar-winning musician AR Rahman to compose the league’s official anthem with its brand ambassador, and ace cricketer Virat Kohli participating as a singer.
The Premier Futsal anthem titled Naam hai Futsal will be released with a video featuring Kohli through digital platform by the month-end.
Kohli, said that the event will give youngsters an opportunity to get involved to show their talent. The league has already roped in former Portuguese footballer Luis Figo as president.
Premier Futsal is promoted by a Chennai-based entrepreneur Xavier Britto of Indev Group, which is into logistics and hospitality businesses.
Futsal, is a shorter, faster version of soccer played indoors with two teams of five-a-side, and two 20-minute halves. It is governed by the Futsal Association of India which is accredited to the international governing body, Asociación Mundial de Futsal.
Commencing on July 15, Premier Futsal will be telecast live and exclusive on Sony Six, Sony ESPN and Sony AATH. Matches will also be available to live stream on Sony LIV, says a press release. Premier Futsal will have eight teams or franchises.
Rohit Ramesh, owner of Chennai City FC, who has picked up one of the franchises in the Premier Futsal League, said the team will rope in local players from Chennai and Tamil Nadu.
