Areva T&D India's transmission business, which is now part of Alstom Grid, has been awarded a contract by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) for a substation package. The contract, worth approximately Rs 58 crore, covers manufacturing, engineering and installation of 11 bays of 420 kV gas-insulated substations for a hydro project at Rampur, Himachal Pradesh, a statement from the company said.
The gas-insulated substations will incorporate spring operating mechanisms and be delivered from the company's Ultra High Voltage Switchgear factory at Paddapai, it said.
