Arrow Coated Products Ltd has received a grant for patent for an invention of a new method of production of a film that can be inserted into a high security paper, such as a bank note.
The film can be had in the form of a thread or a micro tape. The invention is a novel method of producing the high security film using a ‘print transfer’ method.
“This is one of first patents which Arrow Coated Products plans to commercialise,” says the company in a notification to the stock exchanges.
The notification observes that “valuation of patents is an art” and says the company is “now contacting experts in the field”. It promises to keep the shareholders informed “as soon as it is done”.
Arrow Coated finished 2011-12 with a turnover of Rs 3.42 crore and a net loss of Rs 93 lakh. Its share is currently trading on the BSE at Rs 10.23.
