Arvind Ltd on Thursday posted a 44% growth in net profit and 30% in sales revenue in the second quarter of 2013-14, ended September 30, as compared to the corresponding period last financial year.
While the sales were Rs 1,718 crore (Rs 1,325 crore), profit after tax stood at Rs 94 crore (Rs 65 crore), according to a press release.
Jayesh Shah, Director and CFO, said the growth in textile segment was led by volume growth of 21% in woven fabrics and 46% in garments manufacturing. “Our brands and retail business registered a 45% growth in a challenging marketing scenario.”
Encouraged by such a healthy growth in the first half, the company has revised its internal revenue growth estimates to 24% from the earlier 20% for the current financial year, he added.
