Ashok Leyland John Deere Construction Equipment Company launched the 435E Backhoe Loader (BHL), a manual transmission version of the 435 model it launched earlier.

The new variant is focussed on the prevailing market conditions in which efficiency and operating costs are critical.

Features
Priced at ₹24.6 lakh, the 435E is about ₹40,000 cheaper than the 435, which features an automatic transmission.

The company’s CEO P Ravishankar said the 435E, powered by Ashok Leyland’s four-cylinder H Series engine, is BS-III-compliant. It is at least half-a-litre an hour more fuel-efficient than its nearest competitor, he added.

Structurally, it has a novel design that makes it more sturdy but lighter, a feature which contributes to the fuel efficiency and durability.

V Sumantran, Chairman of Ashok Leyland John Deere, said the 435 and the 435E are positioned to tap the opportunity the construction and infrastructure sector offers for such equipment.

Over 1,400 units of the 435 Backhoe Loader have been sold since its launch in January 2012.
