Hinduja Group company Ashok Leyland has reported a 13.8 per cent decline in sales at 7,487 units last month.
The city based heavy vehicle major had sold 8,686 units during the same month previous year, Ashok Leyland said in a BSE filing.
Excluding its small commercial vehicle DOST, the company witnessed 19 per cent fall in commercial vehicle sales at 5,251 units last month against 6,468 units sold in April 2012.
DOST sales almost remained flat at 2,236 units against 2,218 units, the release said.
The company shares ended at Rs 22.95 apiece, up 0.66 per cent on the BSE.
