Commercial vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland’s total sales dropped by about one-third in September compared with the same month last year. Total vehicle sales, including trucks and its small commercial vehicle Dost, were 7,232 (10,620).
Truck sales fell 38 per cent in September 2013 to 4,715 (7,593); Dost sales were 2,517 (3,027), a 17 per cent. In the six months from April to September, total sales were down to 44,841 (57,324) accounting for a 22 per cent drop; commercial vehicle sales were down to 30,820 (41,411) down 26 per cent; and Dost down to 14,021 (15,913) a drop of 12 per cent.
