Asian Paints, the country's largest paint maker, is looking at about 60 per cent capacity addition in the coming days.
According to Amit Syngle, President – Sales, Marketing & Technology, Asian Paints, the company plans to add nearly 600,000 kilo litres per annum to its existing capacity of 10,00,000 kilo litres.
“While 400,000 kilo litres will be added through the proposed greenfield project at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, another 200,000 kilo litres will come through the doubling of capacity of our existing Rohtak facility (in Haryana),” he said.
Syngle was in the city for the launch of “Tractor Emulsion Rong Borsha”, a special TV serial combination guide designed for its customers in West Bengal.
Capacity expansion plans will be executed in a phase-wise manner. “We are in the process of getting the requisite clearances for the Andhra Pradesh facility, while capacity expansion work is on at Rohtak,” Syngle said.
The company has obtained 110 acres from the State government.
