Astrazeneca Pharma on Wednesday posted a net loss of Rs 17.69 crore for its third quarter ended December 31, 2012, as against a net profit of Rs 14.93 crore for the same period of the previous fiscal.
Net sales of the company too declined to Rs 104.91 crore for the current quarter, as against Rs 153.48 crore.
The company said its factory experienced a further interruption in production in January this year, which is under the process of remediation.
“As a result of these interruptions, revenues and the financial results for the current quarter and nine months period ended December 31, 2012 are lower compared to the prior year,” it added.
For the nine months ended December 31, the company posted a net loss of Rs 70.95 crore. It had posted a net profit of Rs 52.76 crore during the same period of 2011—12 fiscal.
Astrazeneca stock closed at Rs 1,323.65 on the BSE, down 0.20 per cent.
