Atul Auto showcases CNG-based 3-wheelers at Delhi expo

Gujarat-based three-wheeler manufacturer Atul Auto Ltd on Thursday said it has showcased its premium range of diesel and CNG-based three-wheelers during the ongoing 14th Auto Expo Motor Show 2016, New Delhi.

The company introduced these new products under the brand-names of ‘Atul Gem’ and ‘Atul Gemini CNG’.

Atul Auto offers a range of diesel and CNG three-wheelers in both front and rear engine platforms for passenger and cargo transportation.

It has an annual production capacity of 60,000 units at its Rajkot plant and has sold 2.75 lakh three-wheeler units so far under “Atul Shakti” and “Atul Gem” brands in both rural and semi-urban markets.

India is the fifth largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in the world with a domestic three-wheeler market of 531,927 units in 2014-15, Jayanti Chandra, Chairman and Managing Director, said.

Jitendra Adhia, President (Finance), Atul Auto Ltd, said the company attained a CAGR of 21% in the last five years. It plans a greenfield expansion to add a capacity of 60,000 units at Ahmedabad at an estimated capex of Rs 150 crore, he added.
