The company till date has sold 8,072 units of cars, surpassing its target of 8,000 units announced in the beginning of this year (January Auto Expo).

“We (Audi India) want to be ranked at number 15 or 16. By 2020, we would like India to be on top five,” Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India told reporters here, adding that India is one of the fastest growing markets with more than 50 per cent growth rate.
Right now, China is leading the list, followed by countries such as the US, Russia, France, Belgium, Japan, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, Australia, South Korea, Mexico, Denmark, Finland and Argentina.

The company has already left behind Mercedes-Benz India in terms of sales (positioned number three now), in the luxury cars segment. According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, the number one brand BMW India sold 5,174 units between April and October compared with 5,895 cars in the same period a year ago.
Meanwhile, Audi India launched its first pre-owned car business – Audi Approved: plus – which will sell pre-owned (two-three old) Audi cars priced between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 20 lakh.
The cars will be technically conditioned to Audi standards (free of defects) including service support.
The company will also offer financing, insurance and 30 days exchange policy, he said.
This is the first such store and the company will soon come up with similar facilities in Noida and Faridabad.
