Audi has launched a new version of its entry model in the domestic market — the A4 sedan. With prices starting at Rs 27.85 lakh (in Delhi), the A4 sports new engines which claim higher efficiency and power output.
With exterior and interior design updates adding to the sporty look, the eighth generation A4 sports several premium features such as LED daytime running lights, Xenon plus headlights, Audi Music Interface and an energy recovery system. All engines are turbocharged, while a fuel-saving start-stop system is standard in petrol variants.
“We have been steadfast in expanding our network so as to achieve the target of selling at least 8,000 cars by the end of this year,” said Mr Michael Perschke, Head of Audi India.
This will also be the first Audi model to offer the integrated Audi Car Life product, which combines financing, service plan, insurance and extended warranty. The A4, which outsold competitors BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class in the first three months of 2012, boasts of the largest rear legroom in the segment.
The Volkswagen Group company assembles the A4, A6 and Q5 at its plant in Aurangabad, while other models such as the A8, Q7 and the R8 sportscar are imported. A new entry model, the Q3 SUV, is due for launch in June.
