Aurobindo Pharma’s US arm is voluntarily recalling a lot of Gabapentin capsules as the product lot has been found to contain some empty capsules. Gabapentin is used as in the treatment of epilepsy and for the management of postherpetic neuralgia (pain after shingles). Aurobindo Pharma, however, had not received any reports of adverse events related to this recall to date, but has received four complaints for empty capsules. Aurobindo’s scrip was down 0.71 per cent on the BSE on Tuesday to close at ₹1110.45.
