The 13th edition of the Auto Expo will see launches of 80 new vehicles and 7 lakh expected footfalls, Vinod Dasari, President, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, said on Thursday.
He was speaking at the curtain raiser for auto expo here.
The expo, with special thrust on electric and hybrid vehicles, is being jointly organised by Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
The Components Show at Pragati Maidan will be held during February 4-7, while the Motor show at India Expo mart, Greater Noida, will be held during February 5-9.
Spread over 80,000 square metres in 18 halls, the Components Show will see participation from 1,500 companies, including 900 Indian companies and 600 international exhibitors.
There will be seven exclusive international pavilions from China, Canada, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and the UK.
Arvind Balaji, President, ACMA, said, “An innovation pavilion will also be set up to showcase the product development prowess of the component sector as also help deepen the automotive value chain in the country.”
The gross indoor exhibition space at the Motor Show has been increased to 73,000 square metres from last year’s 69,000 square metres.
