Network18 Group CEO B Sai Kumar has quit the group after a 14-year stint.
Though the real reason for him quitting or his next move was not known, a statement issued by the group on Wednesday quoted Kumar as saying: “While all good things come to an end, I see it as a new beginning and I am positive and hopeful that Network18 scales new heights here on.”
Raghav Bahl, Founder and Editor of Network18, in the same statement said, “I am truly privileged to have been able to work with someone like Sai who has, I daresay, given the prime of his life when it was a fledgling single channel operation to its evolution as one of India’s largest and most diversified and respected media companies.”
The group has been consolidating its operations since last year when it cut down on its workforce drastically. The group has also been witnessing several senior level exits in the management and editorial teams. Kumar has been with the group since its formative days and in the past was responsible for the management of the group’s various ventures before becoming the Group CEO.
