Bajaj Auto has sold a total of 3,47,624 vehicles in January 2013, a three per cent increase from 3,37,875 units sold during the same month a year ago.
The manufacturer of two- and three-wheelers said in a statement this was the company’s highest ever January sales.
The Pune-based company’s motorcycle sales rose two per cent to 3,01,361 units (2,94,439 units in January 2012) during the month under review, while commercial vehicle sales rose seven per cent to 46,263 units (43,436 vehicles).
Bajaj Auto’s exports rose 10 per cent to 1,28,482 (116,996) vehicles in January 2013.
However, the company’s year-to-date (April to January) sales of motorcycles fell one per cent to 31,98,771 units (32,31,596), while that of commercial vehicles dipped 8 per cent to 4,04,773 units (4,38,672 vehicles). Its exports during April to January fell 3 per cent to 13,10,634 units (1,349,406), the company said in a statement.
