Shares of Bajaj Auto jumped as much as 1.55 per cent on Tuesday as the company has reported 29.72 per cent increase in total sales in December at 2,92,547 units against 2,25,529 units in the same month previous year.
Following a strong open at Rs 3,314.85 against the previous close of Rs 3,293.40, the scrip touched an intraday high of Rs 3,344.50 and a low of Rs Rs 3,285.25. In terms of equity volume, 0.16 lakh shares exchanged hands in the afternoon trade. The company shares ended up by 0.05 per cent at Rs 3,295.
Motorcycle sales grew 12.52 per cent to 2,28,762 units in December 2017 from 2,03,312 units in December 2016, the company said in a statement today.
Bajaj Auto's commercial vehicles sales zoomed to 63,785 units during the month compared with 22,217 units in the year-ago period. Exports stood at 1,43,038 units in the month against 1,05,804 units in the same month previous year, a jump of 35.19 per cent.
