Bajaj Auto has added to its portfolio of mass segment bikes with the launch today of the Discover 100 M.
The new bike, which is built on a completely new platform, is Bajaj’s third offering in the 100 cc segment of its Discover brand, and positioned at a price point in between the other two products – Discover 100 4 G and the Discover 100 T that was launched earlier this year.
K. Srinivas, President (Motorcycle Business), Bajaj Auto Ltd, said that better mileage was normally the predominant consideration for this segment which accounts for around 45 per cent of the total bike market in India. The new technology would add power to them as well, he said, adding, “We currently have 18 per cent share in this segment of the motorcycles market in India, and expect this to increase substantially with the launch of this product.” Bajaj Auto also plans to export them.
Powered by Bajaj’s patented 4-valve, DTS-i technology, the new bike gives 9.3 Ps of power and delivers 84 km/l, the company said. The features include electric start as standard, gas filled Nitrox suspension, petal disc brake and aluminium side sets. It has been priced at Rs 45,996 (ex-showroom Delhi).
