Bajaj Auto has launched the all-new Platina electric start billed as the most fuel efficient bike in its category.
The new 100 cc bike has been developed on an entirely new platform with a new DTS-i powered engine which delivers a mileage of 96.9 kmpl according to an ARAI testing, Bajaj said in a statement.
Eric Vas, President, Motorcycle Business said, “The original Bajaj Platina is one of India’s most successful bike models with more than 50 lakh bikes on road. It is seen as a low maintenance and a good resale value motorcycle. The new Platina now takes mileage to a level of 96.9 kmpl, making it the `world’s mileage champion’."
Priced at Rs 44,272 (ex-showroom), the new bike is designed to appeal to the long-distance commuter. It comes with a new long travel telescopic front suspension and SNS (double spring) rear suspension, a long wheelbase, three inch wide rear tyres, as well as electric start.
It offers new side panels, new exhaust, a refreshed headlamp design, new graphics and alloy wheels as standard. The bike also offers the longest seat in the segment. It is available in three colours: ebony black, electron blue and candy red.
