Motorcycles major Bajaj Auto sold 3.87 million units during FY'14 versus 4.23 million units in the previous fiscal, translating into a decline in sales of 9 per cent year-on-year.
Sales of motorcycles stood at 3.42 million units against 3.37 million units during FY'13, a decline of 9 per cent. Sales of commercial vehicles posted a decline of 7 per cent, while exports at 1.58 million units rose 2 per cent.
Results for March 2014 indicate bike sales rose 1 per cent to stand at 2.7 lakh units, while commercial vehicle sales were down 1 per cent. Exports however, showed a rise of 17 per cent to 1.18 lakh units, taking the overall sales tally up by 1 per cent.
Bajaj Auto said that the company posted its highest-ever exports for March.
The BAL stock was trading at Rs 2,062.70, down by Rs 1.80. The stock had slumped to a low of Rs 2,025.25 in the opening minutes but was able to pullback.
