Aiming to increase its turnover from Rs 3,200 crore in 2012-13 to Rs 5,000 crore next fiscal, Bajaj Electricals Ltd plans to double its exports to Rs 100 crore as well, Anant Bajaj, Joint Managing Director, said today.
The leading consumer durables and lighting company, which is celebrating its 75th year in 2013-14, would also increase the number of countries it exports to from 33 now to 50, he told presspersons here.
Exports, at Rs 33 crore, however, comprised only 1 per cent of the company’s turnover in the last fiscal, he said.
Bajaj Electricals is also increasing the number of Bajaj World franchisee outlets from 65 to 100 this year. Similarly, the number of distributors is also being increased significantly.
Bajaj revealed that the induction cooker market in India, which had clocked Rs 500 crore worth of sales, suddenly collapsed to Rs 250 crore during the last two financial years for reasons that are yet to be ascertained. Bajaj Electricals had a 25 per cent market share in the induction cooker market, he said.
The company’s current order book is about Rs 1,800 crore.
