Bajaj Hindusthan has reported a net profit of Rs 1.15 crore for the third quarter ended June 30, 2011, against a net loss of Rs 14.91 crore in the year-ago period.
Total income also rose nearly 46 per cent to Rs 1,061.98 crore during April-June quarter against Rs 727.78 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Sugar firms generally follow October-September period as financial year in line with sugar season.
Bajaj Hindusthan has 14 sugar plants in Uttar Pradesh with an aggregate sugarcane crushing capacity of 136,000 TCD (tonnes crushed per day) and a distillery capacity to produce 800,000 litres of alcohol per day.
