Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd today reported a standalone net loss of Rs 137.71 crore for the second quarter of the current fiscal due to high finance cost which stood at Rs 201.78 crore.
Its net loss was higher at Rs 282.72 crore in the July-September period of last fiscal, the company said in a regulatory filing.
Income from operations, however, rose to Rs 906.44 in the July-September quarter of the 2016-17 fiscal from Rs 801 crore in the corresponding period of 2015-16.
Bajaj Hindusthan has 14 sugar mills with a cane crushing capacity of 1.36 lakh tonnes per day and alcohol distillation capacity of 800 kilo litres per day.
The company’s stock was trading 2.20 per cent down at Rs 13.81 on the BSE.
