Balmer Lawrie and Company Ltd posted a flat growth in net profit at Rs 29.13 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2011, against Rs 29.53 crore during corresponding period last year. The marginal dip in net profit was mainly on account of the general slowdown in the economy which had affected most of the businesses in the manufacturing and services sectors, said a company statement. Net sales grew by 6 per cent to Rs 532 crore.
