Leading chemical firm BASF IndiaBASF India today posted 67 per cent jump in its net profit at Rs 13.32 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2013, on the back of strong sales.
The company had achieved a net profit of Rs 7.98 crore in the same quarter in the last fiscal.
Net sales rose to Rs 819.18 crore in the fourth quarter of the 2012-13 fiscal from Rs 761.99 crore in the year-ago period, BASF India said in a filing to the BSE.
During the 2012-13 financial year, the company’s net profit increased by a little over 13 per cent to Rs 114.08 crore from Rs 100.86 crore in the previous year.
Total revenues during the fiscal rose to Rs 3,940.63 crore from Rs 3,515.94 crore in 2011-12.
The company manufactures chemicals, plastics, performance products and crop protection products.
Shares of the company closed higher by 3.10 per cent at Rs 583.85 on the BSE.
