Defence public sector BEL’s order book as on October 1 stood at ₹21,648 crore. The company during second-quarter (Q2) of financial year 2015-16 acquired new orders worth ₹1,980 crore.
Major orders acquired during Q2 were integrated air command control system, ground based mobile ELINT system, electronic fuze, armoured engineer reconnaissance vehicle, components kit for DFCC and ADC, handheld thermal acquisition binocular.
On the exports front, order book as on October 1 stood at $172.78 million and export turnover during second quarter is $22.63 million.
The company’s major supplies during Q2 were Akash Missile Systems, Low level light weight radar, 3D tactical control radar, Schilka gun tank upgrade, integrated sonar suite, fire control system and electronic voting machines.
During the financial year 2015-16, the company is expecting major orders for Akash Missile Systems, weapon locating radar, handheld thermal imager and mobile cellular communication system.
Bharat Electronics’ has posted 40.68 per cent higher profit at ₹206.75 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015, against ₹146.96 crore registered in the same period last year.
Total income has also increased by 14.28 per cent to ₹1605.25 crore in Q2 of fiscal 2015-16 against ₹1404.66 crore registered in the same period last year.
