BEML commissions windmill park

Defence public sector major BEML Ltd has commissioned a 9-MW windmill park at Dammur village in Bagalkot, Karnataka. According to Deepak Kumar Hota, CMD, BEML, “The 9 MW-park will be generating electricity to power the manufacturing units of BEML located at the Kolar Gold Fields, Bengaluru and Mysuru.” He said: “BEML has already installed a 5-MW windmill project at Kappatagudda in Gadag district of Karnataka and is utilising the power generated through this windmill since 2007. With this, almost 68 per cent of the energy needs of the company will be met through green energy.”
