BEML, a mining and construction equipment manufacturer, has rolled out the country’s first electric drive rear dump truck BH205-E for large-scale coal mining applications.
The dump truck was indigenously designed and developed and was rolled out from the company’s Mysuru Complex.
BH205E Rear Dump Truck is powered by Tier-II emission compliant modular common rail electronic engine with 2,300 HP.
AC drive system has been engineered to provide exceptional haul road performance with reduced maintenance. BH205E weighing 335 tonnes, when fully loaded, is easily manoeuvrable with power steering with wide steering angle, resulting in short turning radius and good manoeuvrability, according to a company statement.
G Mohan Kumar, Secretary (Defence Production), Ministry of Defence, P. Dwarakanath, CMD, directors, and executives and employees of the company were present during the roll-out of BH205-E.
