Diversified PSU BEML is eyeing South-East Asia, Africa and South America markets for supplying earth moving equipment for the mining sector.
“We are looking at South-east Asian countries like Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia for supplying earth moving equipment,” said Mr V.R.S. Natarajan, Chairman and Managing Director, BEML.
Besides South East Asia, the company is also looking at Africa and South America, he added.
“We want our export turnover to be Rs 1,500 crore by 2018—19,” he told reporters on the sidelines of Asian Mining Congress here.
“By 2018-19, our aim is to clock a turnover of Rs 10,000 crore, and Rs 5,000 crore next financial year. In the current fiscal the turnover would be Rs 4,200 crore”, he said.
BEML, also engaged in supply of defence equipment, was also looking at a turnover of Rs 2,500 crore to Rs 3,000 crore from this line of business.
“We are investing Rs 455 crore in a new factory which would manufacture helicopters and small business jets,” he said.
