BGR Energy Systems has bagged a Rs 1,573-crore contract from the Odisha electricity utility to provide balance of plant for a 1,320-MW super thermal power project.
According to a press release from the company, BGR Energy has bagged the contract for the Odisha Power Generation Corporation’s 2x660 MW super thermal power project in Jhasarguda district.
The company bagged the contract in an international competition in which L&T, Tata Projects and Essar Projects participated.
BGR Energy will handle the complete project from design to commissioning of the balance of plant works, which include all parts of the thermal power plant other than the boiler, turbine and generator.
This contract is the company’s first such project in Odisha and its 11th balance of plant work.
